Georgia: you enroll through Georgia Access
Since the 2024 open enrollment (2025 plans), Georgia no longer uses HealthCare.gov: the state’s ACA plans are purchased through Georgia Access, the state marketplace, directly or with a registered agent. Available carriers change every year; check that your doctors and drugs are still covered in 2027.
Financial help in 2027
The premium tax credit depends on your income, household size and immigration status. The enhanced subsidies expired at the end of 2025 and starting in 2027 there are more limits based on immigration status, so your help may change. We cannot guarantee a subsidy: the amount is determined by your state’s marketplace.

Frequently asked questions
When is open enrollment 2027?
In states that use HealthCare.gov it runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. If you pick a plan by December 15, 2026, coverage starts January 1, 2027. States with their own marketplace publish their own dates: Illinois matches HealthCare.gov; in Maryland you pick a plan by December 31 for coverage from January 1 and enrollment ends January 15; Virginia closes January 29, 2027. Georgia (Georgia Access) and Colorado have not yet published all their 2027 dates: confirm them on their official site.
In Georgia, do I enroll on HealthCare.gov?
No. Georgia has its own marketplace, Georgia Access. Georgia ACA plans are purchased through Georgia Access, directly or with a registered agent or broker.
Will I get help paying the premium?
It depends on your income, household size, immigration status and other rules. The enhanced subsidies expired at the end of 2025, so help may be lower than before. The portal shows an estimate, but the final amount is determined by your state’s marketplace.
Can I enroll online with TOP Insurance?
You can quote online on TOP Insurance’s portal. Whether you can finish enrolling online depends on your state, ZIP code and plan. If it is not available, a licensed TOP agent will help you complete it.
Does accident or short-term insurance replace an ACA plan?
No. Short-term medical, accident, cancer and critical illness insurance are not comprehensive ACA plans. They can complement your coverage, but they have limits and exclusions.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
After the deadline you can only enroll in an ACA plan if you qualify for a special enrollment period after a life event, such as losing coverage, getting married or having a baby.
